Based in County Down, Northern Ireland, Lenny started cutting hair of male care home residents when his friend invited him to the care home where she worked at.

I brought my little jukebox and played some old classics for the men and just watching and listening to them singing along brought back the good feeling I remembered from when I used to work in a care home in my teens. In our barber shop in London, we offer the latest looks in hair design and colour at a good price. We keep abreast at the latest hair styling fashions and use the latest equipment in our salon. We also use some of the oldest techniques, like cut throat razors for a shave, and offer our customers a mug of tea or something a bit stronger. Instead of cut throat razors, or even a pair of scissors, we have learned of a Russian hairdresser who cuts hair with… a hatchet.

With National Apprenticeship Week starting next week, many hairdressers, stylists and barbers will be looking for new hairs [sic] to the throne. With hairdressing a future-proof career option, it is a popular option for apprenticeships. They are recognised “as a ladder of opportunity to a brighter future”. The whole purpose of this week is to promote the benefits of apprenticeships to employers and potential school leavers.
